Dance Like a Butterfly Dream Boy is a contemporary rite of passage synthesised from a mix of physical cultures and inspired by videos of men behaving strangely found online, notably from the blog weirdudenergy.tumblr.com. Dance Like a Butterfly Dream Boy simulates a kind of ritual no longer found in contemporary 'western' society within the frame of theatrical performance. Performed with 10 local volunteers wherever it is shown, the piece enacts a real rite of passage for those that have never been on stage before.
